Reform Pilates

Pilates is a body conditioning form of exercise combining flexibility and strength training to improve posture and body awareness. We use the key principles and exercises from the founder, Joseph Pilates, with a modified twist to support rehabilitation.

Classes

Reform Pilates classes are held at Energie on Thursday evenings. 

Ante and Post natal sessions are available for expectant or new mums on a 1-1 or small group basis. 

If you are new to Pilates, a 1-1 is recommended but not essential prior to joining class. This will allow the foundations to be taught giving you the confidence to participate fully and safely. 

1-1 and small group sessions can be provided on request and offered across island, whether at Energie studio, on your boat or at your home.

    I was recommended to see Abby when we arrived in Antigua following a 2 week Atlantic boat crossing. I had injured my lower back before leaving Europe and didn’t have time to see anybody prior to the crossing. Abby completed a very thorough assessment when I went to see her and provided me with a clear plan going forwards. I had 4 follow up treatment sessions with Abby, mainly focusing on building up my core and lower back strength.   • "Exceptional Exercise Programme"

    I was referred to Abby from a doctor I visited in Antigua when my Sciatic nerve flared up. She provided me with an exceptional exercise program to help ease my symptoms alongside some soft tissue release work around my Piriformis. She was extremely knowledgable regarding the condition and firm with her words and decisions regarding stopping some other exercises and movements (in particular some hamstring stretches) I had previously been advised to do. Unfortunately, we were just visiting Antigua so my time with Abby was short. However, she sent a referral letter to me to continue my sessions with a local Physiotherapist when I got back home.     Having enjoyed Abby’s pilates classes at Mill Reef Club in Antigua for years, I was so pleased to continue online zoom classes with Abby after returning home. I needed the motivation of a personal appointment with Abby to keep progressing, and our zoom classes were the perfect solution. During the pandemic, her tutorial kept me in shape, mentally and physically.
